Short answer
Caliber 4130 is the Rolex in-house chronograph movement. Rolex uses it in the Cosmograph Daytona. Rolex does not use the 4130 in the Day-Date. The Day-Date line uses day and date movements: calibers 1055, 1555, 3055, 3155, and 3255. A listing that advertises a Day-Date 4130 puts two different watches in one name. That mismatch is the first sign the listing is not accurate.
What caliber 4130 is
Rolex introduced caliber 4130 in 2000. It is a self-winding chronograph with a column wheel and a vertical clutch. Rolex lists 44 jewels and about 72 hours of power reserve for the current version. The movement sits in the Daytona, reference 116520 and later, plus 116500. The Day-Date has no chronograph and no 4130.
What a replica is
A replica Rolex is a counterfeit. It carries the Rolex name and crown without permission from Rolex SA. Counterfeit goods are illegal to import into the United States, illegal to sell, and illegal to traffic. US Customs and Border Protection seizes counterfeit watches in mail and courier shipments. Personal use is not an exemption for counterfeit goods. A buyer who resells a counterfeit watch can face federal charges under 18 U.S.C. 2320, plus civil claims from Rolex under the Lanham Act.
Claims that appear in listings
- Swiss 4130 clone or 4130 super clone. No independent lab verifies these labels.
- 1:1 or AAA grades. These are seller terms. No published standard defines them.
- Water resistance and material claims. There is no way to test them before payment, and no warranty to enforce.
- Serial numbers and cards. The seller prints them.
Points of fact
- Rolex Day-Date: launched 1956, day and date display, no chronograph.
- Caliber 3255: used in the Day-Date 40 since 2015.
- Caliber 4130: Daytona chronograph since 2000.
- Service: Rolex service centers do not service counterfeit watches.
This page lists no sellers, no price tiers, and no buying steps. Numbers quoted by replica sellers cannot be checked. If a listing uses the phrase Day-Date 4130, the seller has the model and the movement wrong.
