Where replicas diverge

  • Case metal. 316L steel with gold plating. Plating thickness on most pieces is a few microns. It wears through at the lugs and caseback.
  • Thickness. The Chinese movement is thicker than the 9611 MC. Replica cases run 1 to 2 mm deeper than the original.
  • Crystal. Sapphire on the top tier. Mineral glass on cheaper builds. Mineral scratches.
  • Crown. The key shape is copied. The key function is not always copied. On some pieces the crown pulls straight out.
