The Audemars Piguet Royal Oak ref 15202 is a 39 mm steel watch, 8.1 mm thick, with the caliber 2121 movement. AP made it from 2012 to 2022. Replica versions copy the case shape and the Petite Tapisserie dial. They do not use the 2121. Most use a Miyota 9015 or a decorated Chinese automatic. Thickness on replicas runs 8.5 mm to 9.5 mm. Weight and finishing differ from the genuine watch.

Factories in China sell replicas of the 15202 in several grades. Case diameter is easy to copy. Thickness is not. A 39 mm replica that measures under 9 mm is closer to the original. Caseback engraving, date window position and bracelet screws are common failure points.

- Clone 2121 copies. Thinner, but parts supply and service data are unknown.

- Look at the date font and window bevel.

- Weigh the watch. A steel 15202 on bracelet runs near 130 g.
